Question & AnswerCan I still get OW while I’m in the hospital?
While you’re in a long-term care home for a short stay, Ontario Works (OW) pays your , including the amount they give you for housing.
This can be for up to 6 months if:
- you have a place to live other than the long-term care home, and
- you’re still paying housing costs for it, for example, rent.
OW can reduce the amount of your assistance after 6 months.
