Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) sends you a notice with a date, time, and place.

Your appointment with IRCC could be:

  • to take the , if you’re between 18 and 54 years old
  • for an interview with a citizenship officer
  • for a hearing with a citizenship officer or a citizenship judge

After an interview or a hearing, the citizenship officer or judge can decide if you qualify for Canadian citizenship, including whether you meet the residency requirements.
