3. Remind the court that you need an interpreter

Every time you adjourn your case, remind the court that you need an interpreter.

When your case is adjourned, the court clerk notes your next court date on the information. If you need an interpreter, the clerk will put that on the information too.

When you schedule an important date, such as a preliminary inquiry or a trial, the Trial Coordinators will ask if you need an interpreter. Tell them if you do.

It’s important to let the court know in advance if you need an interpreter. Having an interpreter can affect how long your preliminary inquiry or trial takes.
