2. Ask OW to check information in some other way
The Ontario Human Rights Commission has released their latest take on mandatory vaccines, passports and testing, here: http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/news_centre/ohrc-policy-statement-covid-19-vaccine-mandates-and-proof-vaccine-certificates. In light of this update, and the new directives that the Province released a few weeks ago, we are in the process of updating our covid testing content. Please re-visit the site to access the updated content when it is available.
Question & Answer
OW wants proof of something I can’t give them. What can I do?Try to get what Ontario Works (OW) asks for and keep a record of your efforts.
But OW should not say that you have to get documents that you can’t get for reasons that are out of your control.
So if the OW office asks you to get something that you can’t get, ask them to check the information some other way. For example, you can ask OW to get the information instead.
Getting help
You may want to get help from a community legal clinic if:
- you don’t understand what OW wants
- you think OW is being unfair
- you think OW is asking for information they can’t require you to give them
