Get a receipt

Always make sure the landlord gives you a receipt, no matter how you pay your rent.

Make sure the receipt shows

• the date
• the amount you paid
• what the payment was for
• your name
• your address including your unit number
• the name of the landlord or landlord’s employee who received the payment
• the signature of that person
