1. Ask your landlord to agree to reschedule the hearing

The Board is more likely to change your hearing date if your landlord agrees to it. Contact your landlord and explain why you want to reschedule the hearing. If they don’t want to change the date, ask why. There may be ways to deal with their concerns.

Ask the landlord to list all the dates when they will not be able to come to a hearing in the 90 days after the original hearing date.

If your landlord or their representative agrees to reschedule the hearing, try to get this in writing. If you can’t get the agreement in writing, you should make careful notes about your conversation.
