4. Respond to a severe Medical Search

If a doctor thinks your medical history can help diagnose or treat your child’s severe mental or physical illness, you may be contacted.  This is called a severe medical search.

This can only happen if your child’s illness is life-threatening or will lead to permanent or irreversible damage that will affect their daily life. Only your child, their adoptive parents or certain other people can ask for this information.

You can share your name and contact information or just medical information with no contact information.
