What does it mean to be hired on probation?If you are offered a job with a probation period, make sure you understand:
- your basic legal rights at work
- how long the period of probation will last
Use the Ministry of Labour’s online tool called Industries and Jobs with Exemptions or Special Rules to find out if your job is covered by the ESA and which parts of the ESA apply.
