3. Cancel your contract

To cancel your contract, contact your service provider and tell them that you wish to cancel. You can cancel your contract:

  • in person
  • by phone
  • by email
  • by mail

You will need to pay any amount that you still owe. This means paying for the services you already used, as well as a cancellation fee, if you have to pay one.

Make sure you get a written statement from your service provider confirming that you have cancelled your contract. Or keep a copy of your notice that you send them. Then, if the provider charges you for additional services, you will have proof that you asked them to cancel your contract.

Your contract ends on the day you tell your service provider that you want to cancel.
