Do I have to deposit cash to get bail?If you live more than 200 km away from where you were charged, or you do not normally live in Ontario, the court may require that you give them a cash deposit to secure your release. But this does not always happen.
The court may be willing to release you without a cash deposit. Your lawyer will tell the court on your behalf about why a cash is not needed. Based on that information, the court will decide if a cash deposit is required.
